HAIR LOSS SOLUTION
Best practice for denser results
FUE with Implanter, also known as Direct Hair Implantation (DHI), is a novel technique and is considered best practice in modern hair transplantation. The procedure involves extracting strong, permanent hair from the back of the head (Donor area) and implanting them on the desired area (Recipient area) just like in FUE and FUT, but the hair follicles are directly implanted into the skin using a specially designed ‘Implanter’ device. Implanters are used during the implantation phase of the procedure instead of metal forceps used in standard practice. Its use in hair transplant significantly reduces the amount of mechanical trauma hair grafts experience during the transplantation process, improving their survival through the surgery.
At Bangkok Hair Clinic, we use Lion Implanters that are imported from South Korea as they are widely recognized and used by top surgeons around the world. They are known for their gentle grip of hair grafts and for creating smaller incisions.
FUE with Implanter (DHI) procedure
Advantages of FUE with Implanter (DHI)
- Increased survival of hair follicles by 10-15%
- Denser, more natural results
- Shorter operative time
- Virtually painless during and after transplantation
- Small incision wounds mean reduced recovery time
What are Lion Implanters
Lion Implanters are a specifically designed device imported from South Korea used in hair transplantation. They imitate the appearance of a pen and have a slit at its tip for the insertion of grafts. Lion implanters can be used for hair, eyebrow, or beard transplant, and can be incorporated as part of FUE and FUT procedures.
Who is FUE with Implanter (DHI) suitable for
FUE with Implanter (DHI) is recommended for all patients who may have a reduced graft survival rate due to their pre-existing conditions or co-morbidities. It is important to discuss with your doctor if you have any of these conditions:
- Smoking
- Skin or scalp conditions
- Older age
- Having never taken medication to treat hairloss
- Previous hair transplant procedure
How long does FUE with Implanter (DHI) take
Using this technique, the total length of time for each case is usually less than 6 hours, though this does vary depending on each patient’s needs. We aim to complete the procedure in a timely manner as grafts must be re-implanted as soon as possible to reduce the ‘out-of-body’ time and improve survival rates.
Is FUE with Implanter (DHI) safe
FUE with Implanter helps protect hair grafts from mechanical trauma and have consistently shown better appearance and success rate compared to standard FUE procedures. The procedure is very safe and are carried out globally everyday for over 30 years. There are however risks of surgery and all patients must discuss these risks with their transplant surgeons at Bangkok Hair Clinic.
FAQ
Question: How many days until the results of permanent hair transplantation can be seen?
Answer: Generally, for FUE, DHI (FUE with Implanter), and FUT hair transplantation, hair will begin to grow on the scalp and become noticeable within about 6-9 months after the procedure. After that, with proper care, the newly grown hair can last permanently.
Question: What is the density of the transplanted hair?
Answer: For our permanent hair transplantation service, the density of the transplanted hair is between 30-50 grafts per square centimeter, according to international standards. This level of density is achievable due to the use of the Micrograft technique in every treatment case.
